Night Photography around Greater Vancouver

April 22, 2010  |  Urban  |  , ,  |  No Comments

I do a lot of long exposure photographs. Its usually because by the time I get off work and get home, its pretty dark out by the time I’m ready to go shoot photos with friends. 8:00pm is our usual departure time and has become the norm. I don’t mind though because I love night photography and you shouldn’t be put away your camera because it gets too dark out. Get a sturdy tripod and go explore your city at night. You’ll come away with some of your best shots and you’ll see your city in a different light so to speak.

Vancouver Night Photography

January 22, 2010  |  Landscape  |  , ,  |  No Comments

Went out a few nights this week with some friends for an evening photowalk. Since we work during the days, by the time we get going, it gets pretty dark out. I don’t mind though, I find night photography to be a lot of fun.

Mitchell Island at Night

Mitchell Island

This whole week has been night photography week. What can you do when you work during the day! dabu6o4 and I headed out at 8pm this evening to check out Mitchell Island to see if there’s anything interesting to shoot. A lot of construction companys and industrial related businesses are out there so it was pretty deserted.

Evening out in Vancouver

Tonight I went to take photos with kennymatic and dabu6o4 with the purpose of shooting in the rain. Well it didn’t quite work out because 1) it stopped raining, there wasn’t even a drizzle left and 2) by the time we got out there, the roads weren’t even wet anymore. All was not lost though as we were able to get some decent shots.

Simon Fraser University at night

Tonight I went up to Simon Fraser University with a friend to take some night time photos. As I took out my tripod, I noticed it was missing the quick release plate for the camera. It was on my coffee table at home…I had to improvise so I used my Kata bag as a makeshift beanbag for the night.
