Ok back with an update! After the previous night where the trio went to Ground Kontrol arcade to get their classic gaming on and bowing down to the dougnut overlords, they headed off to bed for some cultural enlightment the next day.

A Photo Gallery at the Wonderful Seattle Central Library

July 10, 2010  |  Architecture  |  , ,  |  No Comments

I apologize for the lack of updates, hopefully this will make up for it. Last week I took a short trip to Seattle to take in the sights for the weekend. If you love architecture and design, you’ll need to take a stroll through Seattle’s Central Library located downtown. This beautiful structure houses an incredible selection of books and materials and should be on your list of places to visit.

A Look around Woodwards, Vancouver

June 13, 2010  |  Architecture, Urban  |  , ,  |  No Comments

Ever since they rebuilt/renovated the Woodwards building in Vancouver, I’ve been meaning to go down there and take a look. After much procrastination I went down there and it’s a pretty nice building. There is a London Drugs there and a inner courtyard with a basketball court in it. The main focal point though is an abstract stairway that leads up to the upper floors.

An Evening out at Deer Lake Park

A few nights ago, dabu6o4 and I met up with kennymatic for a bit of evening photography at Deer Lake in Burnaby. It was quite a chilly night and we were shooting photos around the lake. I had my camera setup on my tripod near the water and started a long exposure shot. I get up and turn around to chat with them and suddenly I hear a crash! The camera tipped over and it falls flat on a rock with my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle hitting a rock. I didn’t have the lens hood on either =(. Fortunately (if you can call it that), two things happened. The camera didn’t fall into the water and secondly, there was no damage to my camera or my lens as far as I can tell. Phew! What I should of done was make sure my tripod was setup more securely as it was a bit front heavy. Let that be a lesson for all of us.

Black and White Tuesday

Tonight I wasn’t sure what photos to post tonight so I decided to go with some black and white photos. I like the timeless look of black and white. Also it gave me a chance to play around with the new watermarking feature in Adobe Lightroom 3 beta2.
