I love formations of clouds on bright sunny days. Lately we’ve been having some wonderful days with some amazing cloud cover and I’ve been photographing them as much as I can. Here is a collection of some recent photos in the past few weeks.

I’ve been wanting to travel around River Road and see what there was to photograph for awhile. dabu6o4 and I went driving around River Road in Richmond and stopping along the way to shoot photos. We even drove all the way to the end and wound up at Terra Nova Park where we had a good view of YVR airport and the sunset. Here are some shots from the night.

It was quite a chilly night and we were shooting photos around the lake. I had my camera setup on my tripod near the water and started a long exposure shot. I get up and turn around to chat with them and suddenly I hear a crash! The camera tipped over and it falls flat on a rock with my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle hitting a rock. I didn’t have the lens hood on either =(. Fortunately (if you can call it that), two things happened. The camera didn’t fall into the water and secondly, there was no damage to my camera or my lens as far as I can tell. Phew! What I should of done was make sure my tripod was setup more securely as it was a bit front heavy. Let that be a lesson for all of us.

This photo was taken later in the afternoon after the pillow fight that took place outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. This was taken on top of the viewing platform that overlooks the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic cauldron. You can see the many float planes at their docks and Stanley Park in the background as well as North Vancouver. With views like this, its no wonder why I love living in Vancouver.
