Today on a rainy afternoon, I went on a photowalk with No Compacts Allowed facebook group at the Bloedel Floral Conservatory. I borrowed a friends Tamron 90mm macro and used it for all the photos I took inside. It was quite a challenge as I’ve haven’t used a macro lens much before. It was also a bit cramped in there so I tried to not take up too much space with my tripod. I recommend visiting the Conservatory while you can because in the next few months you may not get a chance to if they close it down.
Read More Post a comment (1)Took this at the San Diego Zoo, I was fortunate enough to have been there to capture the baby gorilla and his/her family at the time. This still proved rather challenging because the gorilla family drew quite the crowd and I had to shoot through the crowd and behind glass.
Read More Post a comment (0)Today I hit the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Ladner today with dn604 and dabu6o4. It was quite the drive out there from Burnaby and the weather was overcast. Fortunately the weather held up right up till we left when it started to rain. Unfortunately our 200mm and 300mm lenses were quite inadequate for what we really wanted to shoot. Maybe another investment down the road?
