Skull, Labbit and Domo made their way to the beautiful Cannon Beach and into Portland. It was overcast at the beach but quite warm and comfortable. Of course lugging a camera bag down the beach helps keep you warm. One thing we noticed was the beach just goes on and on…and on. Afterwards we did the 2 hour drive to Portland where we checked into our hotel and grabbed some dinner. We went to Silk restaurant for some vietnamese food in the Pearl district of downtown Portland. The prices were quite reasonable as it was an upscale vietnamese restaurant and the portions were good. Afterwards we went to Voodoo Doughnut to try one of their out of the ordinary pastries. The trio decided on the Diablos Rex and later performed a bowing ritual to appease the doughnut overlords.

We also checked out Powell’s Books. You want to talk massive bookstores? This downtown location has over 1 million books! It was a huge store! We also checked out Ground Kontrol classic arcade. This place has a bar and classic arcade games. It was Rock Band night where this band were playing..umm Rock Band…and they were goood. My cousin Jessie and I were ID’d at the door and I was informed that they were no longer accepting Canadian drivers licenses as ID and that next time I visit I would have to bring my passport. They let me in though since I didn’t know. Strange because I turn 35 this year and I’m pretty sure I don’t look like I’m under 21! So Canadian visitors just be aware. I being Asian, I of course played Street Fighter. Its in my blood what can I say?

The trio had made it to Oregon State after some initial headaches. One of their zoom zoom’s tires had a bulge in it and there was a danger of a blowout on the highway. So it had to be replaced. They finally made their way to Astoria where they had a lovely lunch at the Bridgewater Bistro. From there they proceeded to Cannon Beach. Photos of that will come tomorrow.

Today Domo and Skull left Vancouver at 7:30am for their road trip to Portland, Oregon. They were lucky enough to make a new friend in the town of Port Townsend. Labbit! They enjoyed the winding twisty roads along the coast of Highway 101 in their Zoom Zoom mobile. Tonight they are resting in a creepy hotel in a small town. Domo will protect us all tonight. Tomorrow we head to Portland for more adventures!

I apologize for the lack of updates, hopefully this will make up for it. Last week I took a short trip to Seattle to take in the sights for the weekend. If you love architecture and design, you’ll need to take a stroll through Seattle’s Central Library located downtown. This beautiful structure houses an incredible selection of books and materials and should be on your list of places to visit.

Happy Father’s Day everyone! Today was the 2010 Italian and French Car show up in North Vancouver. With a few Oldsmobiles thrown in. I spent some time up there with my brother who has never been to the show before. There were some cars that I haven’t seen before at last years show. Some of my favorites being a replica of the Martini Racing Lancia Delta Integrale and the Ferrari 16M Scuderia. Here are some of the shots from the day.

Ever since they rebuilt/renovated the Woodwards building in Vancouver, I’ve been meaning to go down there and take a look. After much procrastination I went down there and it’s a pretty nice building. There is a London Drugs there and a inner courtyard with a basketball court in it. The main focal point though is an abstract stairway that leads up to the upper floors.

I’m back! I apologize for my absence and lack of posts for the past 3+ weeks due to being in an accident that wrote off my car in a rear ender. Ever since the accident I haven’t been able to get out much to shoot photos but hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon. Here are some photos taken during that evening out with my brother on that fateful night in Richmond.

After babysitting my niece and nephew for the whole day, I had an urge to go for a drive. What prompted me was the Pixar film Cars which I was watching with the kids. Specifically the scene where Lightning Mcqueen and Sally were taking a scenic drive. I didn’t actually head out for my drive with till about 10pm and I went with dabu6o4. Its a good idea to head out somewhere with a friend especially late at night for safety reasons. We ended up driving up to Cypress Bowl, Horseshoe Bay, and Ambleside Park.  Here are some photos from last night.
